Grady Booch is recognized internationally for his innovative work on software architecture, modeling, and the software engineering process. He has been with Rational Software Corporation as Chief Scientist since its founding in 1980. Grady is one of the original developers of the Unified Modeling Language (UML). He's the author of six best-selling books on computer science, including The Unified Modeling Language User Guide (Addison-Wesley, 1999) and the seminal Object-oriented Analysis and Design with Applications (Addison-Wesley, 1994).
