Creating a Summary Box With Header Image Buttons in VB.Net

Author: DevASP
Download Source Code : 553_Advanced Summary Box.zip

In this article I Will Explain How We can create Advanced Summary Box With Header Image Buttons in VB.Net.

Originally, the summary box was meant to act like a list box that wraps long text. This is an advanced, more evolved edition of the summary box. It now uses Office style highlighting, and item headers. There are more options for the control as well. You can define selection mode (none or single) and some colors. I've also put in a double buffer.

To create Summary Box with Header Image Buttons Follow Some Steps and Understand Code Below.

1. Create new application Using File menu and Choose vb.net project.

Now you will see the form Open in your application.

2-Now Drag The Imagelist Control from the window control ToolBar and Manage its properties like set Image and Text Properties.

$- Add My User Control And Built it.

3- Now enter the routine below Against the ToolBar1_ButtonClick event. This routine infact  Set some initial characteristics.e.g add items and Invalidate the control.

Private Sub ToolBar1_ButtonClick(ByVal sender As System.Object, ByVal e As System.Windows.Forms.ToolBarButtonClickEventArgs) Handles ToolBar1.ButtonClick

        Select Case e.Button.ImageIndex

            Case 0

                Dim dlg As New frmAddItem

                If dlg.ShowDialog = DialogResult.OK Then

                    Me.AdvancedSummaryBox1.AddItem(dlg.txtHeading.Text, dlg.txtContent.Text)

                    Me.AdvancedSummaryBox1.Invalidate()

                End If

        End Select

 End Sub

Now Built and run the Project You will see The Advanced Summary Box With Header Image Buttons. The source Code is given by this article for your Complete Understanding. And also Attach the user Control. Just run it you can understand how easily we can create it.
